IS MY DOG NOVICE, INTERMEDITE OR ADVANCED?
Not everyone is joining us with a brand new puppy. So to help you decide what level you think you may have reached have a read of our level descriptions.
NOVICE
A novice dog is from 5 month onwards and will be looking to achieve the set criteria for a bronze award in our train to win programme. The novice dog needs not to have had an prior formal training and we will help set you on your way with basic obedience and gundog skills.
INTERMEDIATE
Your dog will be able to walk off lead at heel throughout the training class. It will be steady to thrown dummies and distractions. You will have started with memory retrieves and your dog should be taking direction.
The dog will be able to retrieve from water, and for spaniels show a willingness to hunt.
ADVANCED
Your dog will be competent in all facets of novice and intermediate and you will be working towards blind retrieves.
Your dog must be steady to all thrown and "launched" dummies.
You will have introduced your dog to "shot" in the proper way.
